News September 25, 2020 Back to news Solar power makes Prevex even more sustainable Prevex has installed solar panels on the wall of its production facilities in Nykarleby, Finland. Under optimal conditions, the panels produce 18 600 kWh monthly, which is enough to provide all electricity needed for Prevex’ office facilities. The solar panels have been in use since August 2020. “We are actively looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint. Installing solar panels was a natural step in this process”, explains CEO Marko Nylund. Prevex has for a while already increased the usage of various renewable energy sources. Last year, Prevex’ factory in Finland switched to 100% renewable electricity produced by hydro power. Furthermore, the heating of the facilities is produced with biofuels.
News 14-3-2024 Prevex reduced CO2 emissions more than expected Last year, Prevex managed to exceed its goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The main reason for this is that the company was able to increase the share of recycled plastic in its water traps faster than planned. Read more
